psychotherapy program

The objective of the GALAS Psychotherapy Outreach Program (POP) is to support the personal and mental well being of GALAS members and non-members by providing individual as well as group therapy for issues such as: difficulties in relationships, depression, anxiety, stress, and coming out. The program is administered through the organization’s Educational and Resource Committee (ERC). Any members of GALAS, paid or not, may participate in the program.

Please read the following guidelines for individual therapy, as there are important details you need to know before calling the therapist.

  1. The POP is available to any person interested in psychotherapy.
  2. Those who have paid the annual GALAS membership fee will receive six (6) sessions with a licensed therapist at no cost to them. GALAS will pay the fee for each session, for up to six (6) sessions.

Nannette Karapetian, LCSW, 323-533-1649Anita Avedian, MFT, 818-426-2495
  5. The therapist will contact the designated person on the GALAS Board to inquire about membership, for payment purposes only.
  6. The therapist will not be reporting on the status of any clients to any member of GALAS.
  7. Those who choose to continue sessions with the therapist beyond the six (6) sessions paid for, in part or wholly, by GALAS, are expected to pay for those sessions.
