Who We Are & What We Do
GALAS is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit based in Los Angeles, providing resources and programming for the LGBTQ+ Armenian community, and beyond.
History
Since 1998, GALAS has been the leading voice in advancing equality for LGBTQ+ Armenians worldwide. GALAS was formed in Los Angeles by a group of LGBTQ+ Armenians who were looking for friendship, support, and a sense of belonging within the community.
Mission
The mission of GALAS is to (1) foster a safe and supportive network for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people of Armenian descent; (2) promote their personal empowerment within their communities; and (3) build bridges between the LGBTQ+ and Armenian communities and among all allied and intersectional communities.
With a local Los Angeles footprint and a global reach, GALAS serves LGBTQ+ Armenians in the diaspora and in Armenia.
