ABOUT THE EVENT
Join us for a queer SWANA community clay night hosted by Sooki Studio and GALAS LGBTQ+ Armenian Society. This is a space to meet and connect with other LGBTQ+ SWANA while working with clay.
This handbuilding ceramics workshop will be a playful low stakes creative environment grounded in exploration and letting go of expectations. Participants will work with terracotta clay and are welcome to make anything they'd like such as sculptural, abstract or functional forms.
No experience is necessary and all are ages welcome! This workshop will be suited to those who are curious in working with clay for the first time and those with various levels of experience who would like to create in a communal and welcoming space.
All materials are included and participants can build as many pieces as they'd like within the two hour period. We will be working with unglazed terracotta clay that, once fired, can be used for anything except holding liquids. All pieces will be fired and ready for pick up within 3-weeks of the workshop.
15% of proceeds will be donated to GALAS.
