ABOUT THE EVENT

In this session, we’ll explore gender-nonconforming identities through art, history, and cultural context. Our main reading centers on a nonbinary-focused art installation exhibited at the Yerevan Modern Art Museum. Using the artwork as a starting point, we’ll discuss what it means to be nonbinary and trace how gender-nonconforming identities have existed across cultures and throughout history. This session invites participants to consider gender beyond binaries, timelines, and borders.
